Privacy, plainly.

1. The short version

TV Steward does not require an account and does not include advertising, tracking, or usage analytics. We do not automatically receive your TV commands, device records, or maintenance history. The app communicates with your selected TV over your local network.

2. Information the app uses locally

To discover, pair with, and manage your TV, the app processes device names, local network addresses, device identifiers, connection information, and pairing credentials. Depending on the features you enable, it also processes app lists, favorites, device measurements, and maintenance records. Commands and any text you deliberately send are transmitted to the selected TV to carry out your requests.

Device records, preferences, and maintenance history are stored on your Mac. Pairing and management keys are stored in macOS Keychain; supporting processes may use restricted temporary files while a connection is active. These records are not automatically uploaded to us.

3. Permissions and your choices

Local Network access is used to find and communicate with your TV. You can withdraw it in macOS System Settings. Optional management and care features require a separate TV authorization using Android Debug Bridge (ADB). You can revoke that authorization or disable debugging in your TV’s settings.

The app’s Forget action removes the selected TV from the active device list and deletes its saved remote and ADB credentials. Previous local registry backups, maintenance records, and files you exported may remain. You can remove those local files separately; contact us if you need help. Removing the app alone may not remove all saved data or Keychain items. Quitting the app does not disable debugging on the TV.

4. Reports and support

Reports are previewed before export and are not sent automatically. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any files or details you attach. We use that information only to answer your request, investigate the issue, and provide support. Do not send passwords, pairing keys, or other sensitive information.

We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to handle your request and related follow-up, or to meet a legal obligation. You can request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. Local app data remains under your control until you remove it; your own system backups may retain copies according to your backup settings.

5. This website and service providers

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We do not add analytics, advertising trackers, or application cookies. Cloudflare processes connection information, such as your IP address, requested page, browser information, and request time, to deliver and protect the website. Depending on the security features enabled, Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies. Technical information may be processed outside your country and is retained under the service’s applicable retention practices. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and cookie information.

Hosting and email providers may process website requests or support messages on our behalf. We require service providers handling this information to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if legally required or necessary to protect rights and security.

6. Apple and other services

Apple handles App Store downloads, purchases, and any diagnostics you choose to share with Apple under its own privacy settings and Privacy Policy. We do not receive your payment card details. Your TV, its operating system, and any third-party apps or services you use have their own privacy practices.

7. Security

We use the app’s local storage protections and macOS Keychain to help protect saved information. No storage or connection is completely secure. Use TV management features only on a trusted network: legacy TCP ADB connections do not guarantee encrypted transport.

8. Children

TV Steward is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it.

9. Your rights and policy changes

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, and to complain to your local privacy authority. Contact us to exercise applicable rights. We cannot remotely access or erase records stored only on your Mac.

We may update this policy when the app or our practices change. The current version and its update date will be available on this page.
